The call
On a lakefront home in Irmo, wind coming across the water peeled up a length of ridge cap on a standing-seam metal roof. The panels themselves were fine.
What we did
- Removed the damaged ridge cap section and checked the closures and fasteners on both sides.
- Installed new ridge cap with new closure strips, sealed and fastened to hold in the wind exposure a lake gives it.
- No panels replaced, because none needed it. The job was the ridge and only the ridge.
