The call
After Hurricane Helene came through the Midlands, this Chapin homeowner called about wind damage to one section of a hip roof. It turned out to be the only damage on the property.
What we did
- Inspected the whole roof, not just the spot they could see from the yard, and confirmed the damage was limited to one hip.
- Replaced the lifted and torn shingles, color-matched to the existing roof so the repair blends in.
- Back on the roof a few days after the storm, before the next rain.
- A repair, not a replacement — the rest of the roof had plenty of life left, and we said so.
