The call
This Lexington homeowner was turning a deck into a sunroom and found the fascia behind the old gutters had rotted. The fascia had to be sound before the sunroom could tie in, and the old gutters were not worth putting back.
What we did
- Removed the old gutters and cut out the rotten fascia, replacing it with new material before anything was hung.
- New 6-inch brown seamless gutters — the larger size moves more water off a roof this size in a Midlands thunderstorm.
- Downspouts placed to carry water away from the new sunroom footing, and a valley run where two roof planes meet.
- Better gutter guards than what was there, so the sunroom roof line stays clear under the trees.
- Same homeowner, same job as the black chain-link dog yard out back — gutters and fence in one visit, one point of contact.
